Set Up SentiSum Kyo in Slack
Turn your customer feedback into instant action with Kyo. Kyo integrates SentiSum's powerful AI analytics directly into your Slack workspace. It helps support and product teams stay on top of customer sentiment without leaving the chat.
⚠️ Important notes
- Only one Slack workspace can be connected per SentiSum account.
- Installation is a one-time setup.
- The setup must be done by a Slack Workspace Admin or Owner.
- Once connected, the Slack integration will show as Integrated in SentiSum.
Step 1: Install the SentiSum Slack App (One-time setup)
- Log in to your SentiSum Dashboard.
- Click your Profile icon (bottom-left) and go to Settings.
- Select Communication from the left menu.

Click the Slack card. (This opens Slack’s authorisation flow & you’ll be redirected to Slack.)

Select the Slack Workspace where you want alerts to be delivered and click Allow.

Once authorised, you’ll automatically be redirected to the SentiSum (Kyo) bot inside your Slack workspace.

This confirms the installation is successful.

Step 2: Connect Your User Account
Each team member who wants to use Kyo must complete this one-time setup.

In Slack, go to the Apps section in your sidebar and open the Kyo app. Click Open app.

- Click the Home tab at the top of the app window.

- Click the "Connect Sentisum Account" button.
- A browser window will open asking you to log in to SentiSum to verify your identity.

- After logging in, return to Slack. The Home tab will update to show you're "Connected". You're now ready to ask questions!
Step 3: How to Ask Kyo Questions
1. In a Channel:

Go to any channel where you've invited Kyo.

Mention the bot and type your question:
@Kyo What are top issues in last week?

2. In a Direct Message:
- Open the Kyo app in Slack.
- Go to the Home tab and click New chat in the top right.
- Type your question directly to the bot—no mention needed!
