Set Up SentiSum Anomaly Alerts in Slack
Receive real-time alerts in Slack whenever SentiSum detects unusual patterns such as spikes in SentiSum Tags, sudden sentiment changes, or volume anomalies.
⚠️ Important notes
- Only one Slack workspace can be connected per SentiSum account.
- Installation is a one-time setup.
- The setup must be done by a Slack Workspace Admin or Owner.
- Once connected, the Slack integration will show as Integrated in SentiSum.
Step 1: Install the SentiSum Slack App (One-time setup)
- Log in to your SentiSum Dashboard.
- Click your Profile icon (bottom-left) and go to Settings.
- Select Communication from the left menu.

Click the Slack card. (This opens Slack’s authorisation flow & you’ll be redirected to Slack.)

Select the Slack Workspace where you want alerts to be delivered and click Allow.

Once authorised, you’ll automatically be redirected to the SentiSum (Kyo) bot inside your Slack workspace.

This confirms the installation is successful.

Step 2: Create Anomaly Alert Rules in SentiSum
- In SentiSum, go to Anomalies → Alert Rules.
- Click Create Alert Rule (or edit an existing rule).
- Scroll down to the Notification Channels section and enable Slack Notifications.

Step 3: Choose Where Alerts Should Be Sent
1. Send alerts to Slack channels

Under Slack Notifications, open the Slack Channels dropdown.

Select one or more public Slack channels where you want alerts to appear
(e.g.

2. Receive alerts as personal messages (optional)
- Enable Ask Kyo app to receive alerts as a direct message (DM) from the SentiSum bot instead of (or in addition to) channels.

Step 4: Send Alerts to Private Slack Channels (Optional)
By default, SentiSum can only post to public channels.
To receive alerts in a private channel, follow these extra steps:

Open the private channel in Slack.

Invite the SentiSum bot by typing:
/invite @Kyo -
Return to SentiSum → Anomalies → Alert Rules and refresh the page.

Your private channel will now appear in the channel dropdown and can be selected.
